Lillian Hartwick
Lillian Delorse (Inman) Hartwick of Ironton passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was 91.
She was born in Ironton on Oct. 18, 1926, the daughter of Beulah (Browers) Inman and Gilbert Inman.
On June 23, 1941, she married Henry Edward Hartwick, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1989.
She retired from Arcadia Valley Hospital in 1989 where she had worked as a nurse for 30 years.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was baptized in 1945.
In 1999, she worked for the Kozy Korner Café as a cook for two years and then she went to work for the Shenandoah Boys Ranch as a cook. She really enjoyed working there and loved the boys who lived there.
She retired for good at the age of 83.
Lillian was the mother to 13 children, a baby boy who was stillborn, Henry Lee Hartwick who preceded her in death, June Caby and husband, Jim of Tuscumbia, James Hartwick of Ironton, Joyce Ann Hartwick, who preceded her in death, Janice McCarron who precedes her, Curtis Hartwick and wife, Diann of Ironton, Theresa Rennie of Ironton, Joe Hartwick, who preceded her, Paul Hartwick of Ironton, Patricia Glaskey and husband, Dave of Belleview, Paula Sue Pitts of Ironton, and Tony Hartwick also of Ironton.
Lillian is also survived by four sisters, Betty Risher of Ironton, Sue Whited of Washington, MO, Martha Bowen of Ironton, and Linda Faye Whited of Washington, MO; a brother, James Inman of Fredericktown; 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Carla Hartwick and Theresa Hartwick; son-in-law, Johnny McCarron; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Lillian was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Combs and Pauline George; and three brothers, Brentondale “Abe” Inman, Gilbert “Bateman” Inman and Jack Inman; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Randall Stevens and Rev. Fred Manning officiating.
Visitation was on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home.
Interment was in the Cove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church.
