Jacob “Jake” Tims

Jacob “Jake” Tims passed away on March 16, 2017.

He was born on Dec. 16, 1939 in Ironton to Ruth and Walter Tims. 

He graduated from Missouri School of Mining at Rolla and then entered the US Navy’s Aviation Officer Candidate program in 1961. 

After serving for five years as a Navy pilot, Jake began his commercial airline career with Braniff International based in Dallas, TX. 

He retired from a long career in the aviation industry in 1999. 

Jake spent his retirement years playing tennis, enjoying the Florida sunshine, and building memories with his family. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susi Tims, and his four daughters, Suzy, Cindy, Lisa and Gina. 

His warm, endearing nature was loved by all who met him and he will be dearly missed.
