Dave Thorn
Eugene David Thorn passed away on Nov. 22, 2016, in Cotter, AR. He was 74.
David was born on Nov. 20, 1942, in Neosho, the son of Jewel “Gene” and Betty Burris Thorn. He married Tracey Bland on June 13, 2005 at Mountain Home, AR and worked as a car salesman for Ultimate Auto Group.
David was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He lived in the Mountain Home area since 1976, moving from Ironton. He enjoyed genealogy and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
David is survived by his wife, Tracey Thorn of Cotter, AR; a son, Scott Thorn of Mountain Home, AR; a granddaughter, Nico Thorn of Murfreesboro, TN; a stepson, Clay Strain of Cotter, AR; two brothers, Carl (Debbie) Thorn of Titusville, FL and Dale Thorn of Ironton; one sister, Donna Hill of Ironton; and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jewel “Gene” Thorn and his mother, Betty Thorn.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Susie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or Wounded Warrior Program.
