Marilyn Jeanette Powell
Marilyn Jeanette Powell of Bismarck passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018. She was 78.
Marilyn was born on Aug. 6, 1939 in Ironton, a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Thurman Miller.
On Jan. 11, 1964, she was united in marriage to Guy Powell, who survives. Also surviving Marilyn are 15 nieces and nephews, Mike and Leslie Miller, Pam Restemayer, Linda Brown, Charles, Dennis, and Phillip Jones, Debbie Buford, Cathy Day, Tania Smith, Gary McEntire, Don McEntire, Gordon McEntire, Harry McEntire, Karen Thomlinson, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clyde Miller; and a sister, Roberta Miller.
Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Ironton High School, and she worked as a secretary and book keeper for the Chevrolet dealership in Ironton and many other businesses.
Marilyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pilot Knob for 66 years serving as Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and was Church Secretary for 41 years.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also volunteered at the food pantry.
A Celebration of Life for Marilyn was held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. from the Cole Family Funeral Home. Visitation began on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Rev. Scott Edgar officiated the funeral services. Interment was in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pilot Knob.
