Carl Holmes

Carl Joseph Holmes, formerly of Ironton, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2018 in Farmington.  He was 57.

He was born on Tuesday, March 6, 1961 in Ironton, the son of Dr. Richard and Anna (Nichols) Holmes of Ironton.

Carl is survived by two children, Anthony “Tony” Mikel of High Ridge, Emma Holmes of St. Louis; three sisters, Catherine Holmes of Farmington, Willa Frattini and husband, John of St. Louis, Amy Reynolds of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Paul Holmes of Overland Park, KS, Richard “Richie” Holmes of Columbia, and John Holmes of Berlin, Germany.  

Also surviving are several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Carl was a 1979 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School.  He participated in high school sports earning All-District honors in basketball.  Carl was a member of Ste. Marie Du Lac Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the Arcadia Valley Eagles, where he served as secretary for many years and the Arcadia Valley Elks Lodge.  Carl loved to ride Harley motorcycles.  

A funeral mass was held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Ste. Marie Du Lac Catholic Church in Ironton. Visitation was on Sunday from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob, with Rosary at 7 p.m.  Interment will be in the Middlebrook Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Ste. Marie Du Lac Cemetery Fund.
