Charlie Wright

Charlie “Hoss” William Wright, formally of Ironton, passed away Feb. 12, 2017 in Viburnum. He was 66.

Charlie was born March 21, 1950 in Ironton, a son of the late Otha Oma and Doris Whited Wright.

In 1976, Charlie was united in marriage to Diane Raney, who survives. To this union four children were born, Amy (James) Casteel of Bismarck, Charles Raney of Farmington, Becky Wright and fiance Jamie Stahl of Farmington, and Wendy Wright and fiance Dave Melson of Ironton.

Also surviving Charlie are three brothers, Johnny Wright of New York, Bryan Wright of Desoto, and Fred Whited of Annapolis; one sister, Sandra Nash of Park Hills; seven grandchildren, Micah, Blake, Kylie, Aleigha, Aden, Kirsten, Nick; two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Carsen; and a host of relatives and friends.

Preceding Charlie in death were his parents, Otha and Doris.

Charlie was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Ironton, and a member of the Arcadia Valley Eagles Lodge. During his earlier years, Charlie worked for the Brown Shoe Factory and was also a butcher, scrapper, mechanic, and as many would say, a “Jack of all trades.”

Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Cole Family Funeral Home.

Visitation period was Friday from noon to 2 p.m.

Pastor Aaron Boeving officiated the services.

Memorials may be made to Charlie’s daughters, Amy, Becky, or Wendy.
